Alaska Airlines – Brand Reveal Time Lapse
The Overview – Rebranding a Giant
Alaska Airlines, now the 5th largest airline, made the major decision to rebrand in Q1 2016. New logo and a new color scheme, including their planes which have featured a beloved Eskimo for years. They wanted to capture the excitement and transition of their rebrand with video; specifically with a video documenting the repainting of their livery.
The Solution – Time-lapse
The first plane would be painted just days before the rebrand announcement and kept under wraps at a facility in California before flying at night to Seattle for the big reveal. Over the course of 10 days, paint was removed, the plane cleaned and repainted, all under the eyes of Alaska marketing and numerous cameras. Footage was sent – sometimes daily – to Seattle video production partner Sparkworks Media, and we built out the progression of events.
The Results – Huge Views
The final video was posted to Alaska’s Facebook page and is heading toward 800,000 views.

An alternate 15 second Instagram version was also created. It was considered a big success by the client and we loved being part of it.
