Pathways

At Sparkworks, we love a good challenge. So when Bellevue College approached us to create animated explainer videos for each of their eight new pathways programs plus an overview—videos which had to be creative, clear and concise—and meet ADA standards of hearing and sight-impaired accessibility—and be approved by all department heads, student governance, and other faculty and staff members… we said, “bring it on.”

The Production
It all came down to planning, coordination and scalable creative. We worked with Bellevue College’s Pathways Implementation Committee to gather inputs, distill feedback, and push revisions while animating several videos simultaneously. Together we developed a set of unique and ethnic animated characters that would speak to the Bellevue College alumni. Once a first draft was complete, the team at Bellevue also conducted in depth surveys to insure the information was being well received by students and staff.

The Result
Bellevue College had a series of videos to help current and new students better understand the Pathways program. Students first would choose their field of interest, suck as health sciences or business and then begin on a pathway made up of specific classes that would lead them toward their career goal. When all was said and done, we had a very happy client and a great-looking finished series. Each video also highlighted other resources available to students and suggested when and how to check-in with career advisors.
